HOME ABOUT ADOPTION AVAILABLE PETS HOW TO HELP SPAY & NEUTER

Home Adoption

After years of experience, we have figured out the quickest, most efficient, and best way to handle adoptions and to help ensure you and the pet are a very good match. All of our animals come from rescue situations and we strive to do our best to make sure the new adoptive home will be the pet’s final forever home. Therefore, we enforce each of the following policies for you and your potential pet:

  • We are unable to consider any home without the potential adopter FIRST completing an application. This in no way obligates you to adoption. Completed applications are mandatory.
  • We are happy to consider out of state adoptions. In fact, we have found these to be some of our best homes. Please note, however, that we do not ship animals. You will be required to travel here to meet and pick up your pet.
  • We are unable to hold animals while you vacation. Please visit our website when you return to see if the pet you are interested in is still available.
  • All pets will be altered (spayed/neutered) before adoption.

Once your application has been received, it is forwarded to the foster parent and you can expect to be contacted within 48 hours. If you are interested in attending and possibly adopting at one of our twice monthly Petsmart Adoption Days (1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month, from 10 am to 2 pm), it is strongly advised that you submit your application at least 24 hours prior to the event. Please keep in mind that we are an all-volunteer rescue and that many of our pets receive multiple inquiries. We will do our best to work quickly to evaluate your application and get in touch with you as soon as possible. Most applicants will be contacted within 24 hours so please be patient.

SPAY & NEUTER

All animals available for adoption through LNAR are spay/neutered before adoption, including puppies and kittens. We have researched juvenile spay neuter and alter even young puppies and kittens. We have had no issues with altering healthy animals as young as 10 weeks. In fact we have found their recovery time is much quicker and quite often they are up and about within a few hours.
