| | We here at Lake Norman Animal Rescue are blessed to have met some of the kindest kids in the area.
Many are so loving and caring and want so much to help the animals. Here are their stories.
 |
Angela and her family adopted a German Shepherd named
Bailey several years ago from LNAR. It was a match made in
heaven. Since then Angela has been such an asset to the animals.
This past Summer she had a "rescue birthday" and asked that her gifts be
gifts for the animals. Thank you for the food, toys and gift
cards Angela!! |
| For his 7th birthday, John Woods raised nearly $300
to help save the animals. He came to an adoption event at
Petsmart to meet "his" dogs. He is shown here with Cowboy.
He was so excited, he was overheard asking his mother "is this one of
the dogs I helped" as he walked from kennel to kennel at the adoption
event. We are proud to have met John, and yes John, your
generosity helped all the animals that day and for many more days to
come. You truly have a kind heart. |

Emily, Katelyn, Mikayla, Jessica and
Meghan are five creative, and kindhearted girls.
The handcrafted cards and took them to school and through their
neighborhood and sold them. Between them they raised over
$100.
Thanks Girls!!!!! |
Macy King wanted to help the animals. So much so that she came up with a way to help. She went door to door in her neighborhood explaing the animals plight and how she felt moved act. She worked very hard and collected her donations. She came to an adoption event and was so excited to meet the animals. She is pictured her with one of the fosterdogs Arabelle, who is going to be one of the recipients of her generous donations. We will be using the donation to help with Arabelles vet expenses. We thank you Macy for having such a kind heart. |

Amy and KC | Amy wanted three things for her 8th birthday. For her friends to have a fun party, to help homeless animals and for a puppy of her own. On Sunday October 22nd all three of her wishes came true. She had a "puppy party". Lake Norman Animal Rescue came to her party and brought several adoptable puppies for the kids to meet. In lieu of gifts for herself, Amy only wanted to help the animals. Her guests brought gifts for the dogs instead. She collected toys, bowls, food, rawhides and bedding which was all desperately needed for the foster animals. The kids made dog collars out of ribbon and they will be sold at adoption events and the proceeds will help pay for vet care for fosterpets. The highlight of the party was when Amy got her special gift, her very own puppy, KC. He is seen with her on the left. KC was born into fostcare when his pregnant mother was rescued from an animal control shelter. Happy Birthday Amy and Congratulations KC on finding a wonderful new girl to love!!! |
 | A big Woof to Andrea!!!! Being an all volunteer charity that receives no public funding or grants, money is always tight. Our expenses are as follows Vet care #1 Food and Supplies #2 Two months ago, we met Andrea Watson. Her girl scout service project entails collecting donated bags of dogfood, repackaging it into 3 and 6 pound bags in order for it to stay fresh and distributing it to the animals that need it most. When she contacted us at LNAR asking if we wanted to be one of the beneficiaries of the food, we felt as if we had won the new lottery. Through Andreas generosity, we have saved hundreds of dollars in food expenses. She has donated well over one Thousand pounds of food thus far. We are so grateful for Andrea and her generosity. Please keep us in mind, in addition to monetary donations, we are always in need of extras such as toys, bones, treats to help in training, and with winter coming we desperately need washable pet beds and Cedar Shavings. Please email us at lknrescue@yahoo.com if you can help with any of these items.
